I was standing in line at the post office last week and heard a conversation I sort of wish I hadn't...
Whomp whomp. As a small business owner, last year's holiday season was a shipping nightmare. Slow service, packages not getting scanned at all, things showing up in mailboxes days after being marked delivered. It sounds like this year is going to be no different.
So, typically I give you guys guidelines and holiday shipping cutoff dates. But I'm not going to do that this year. What I'll do is promise you that I'll get your products packed and on their way to you (either via USPS or UPS) as fast as possible. As the weather gets colder, Mr SC has less to do outside, so he helps with fulfillment more, so we should be able to stay pretty quick. But once those packages are in the hands of the shippers, it's out of my hands. If you're planning on buying holiday gifts, do so early.
What else am I doing to make your holiday easier? Well, I'm going to release my winter collection early. I normally release it on Black Friday like so many indie polish companies do, but I'm going to release mine November 5th. There may not be much fanfare or swatches, because I've been telling my swatch team November 26th since spring. And it's not fair to them for me to expect photos two weeks early with 2 weeks warning. So I'll show y'all the polishes on my nails! And you'll see why I love my swatchers so much. And the full set will be available at a discount through the month of November.
Other new releases... We're bringing our Intense Butter Balm and Nail Polish Gift Sets back November 1st. Our butter balm is now offered in smaller 0.8oz gold tins. It's so powerful that you don't need much, so we downsized. It's perfect for dry winter skin and will be available for $8.00.
Our nail polish gift sets will include a base coat, top coat, and nail color of your choice. Packaged in a pretty box. Tied with a bow ready to gift for $25.
Are we still doing a BFCM deal? Yes we are. We're lowering our free domestic shipping threshold from 11/26-11/29. And the first 50 orders placed in those dates will receive a free, exclusive "Happy 42nd birthday Pam!" polish.
Alright! I think that's it as far as news goes. This holiday season is going to be a wild ride. I'll do what I can to get things to you. And so are many other small businesses. Please remember that we all try hard to make our customers as happy as we can. Treat everyone with kindness and read over your social media comments and emails twice before you send them.
Xoxo,
Pam
